Fireworks, design work, and cereal. All in a day’s work for Victor Sahagun, whom you might recognize from our first Moto G stories video. We loved the story Victor had to share, so get to know him and his Moto G a little better as he takes his phone with him all day. “Every time I am with my friends I can capture those awesome fun moments we have.”

300 Motorolans dedicate a day of service in Chicago with Motoserve
We are partnering with Chicago Cares and five local schools and nonprofit organizations to beautify and improve Chicago by crafting school murals, public gardens, community picnic tables, and more. At Motorola we aim to improve people’s lives, whether it’s through the devices we create or in how we give back to our communities through our Foundation and service.
Site projects include:
- Back of the Yards - Lara Academy: Building planter boxes, picnic tables and benches, allowing 530 students to enjoy the outdoors when school starts next week!
- Brighton Park - Shields Elementary: Giving ten classrooms a fresh look with a new coat of paint and creating a dozen inspirational murals to breathe new life into the school.
- South Shore - Rebecca K. Crown Center: Working with 30 kindergarteners on science projects and get them excited for the start of school.
- North Lawndale - MLK District Garden: Maintaining the community’s gardens by planting fruit trees and shrubs and building benches and tables.
- Englewood - Hinton Elementary: Creating a more inviting atmosphere with murals throughout the school and making updates to the school grounds.
See more pictures from the day's activities at our Facebook page and to stay up on our latest projects around Chicago and beyond.

#MotoFriends: Miguel’s 5 tips for awesome Moto X shots
Summer moments are for savoring—which is why we love capturing them on our Moto phones!
As does Miguel R, a Moto X user from Kew Gardens, New York, on Google+. He’s beautifully captured and composed some classic summer moments—sunbursts, grassy fields, sunset-drenched lakes, and more, as you can see above. You can almost feel the warm rays on your face when you look at his photos.
So we asked Miguel for some of his favorite tips for taking photos on Moto X. Here are his top five:
- Clean the camera lens. Sounds simple, but it’s more important than you think!
- Set the camera to HDR mode. This will make your photo look even more vibrant. The feature works especially well for scenes without motion.
- Manually adjust the exposure to create the desired look. You can turn on “Control Focus and Exposure” in Camera settings. Drag the circle to highlight your subject and the focus and lighting will adjust accordingly.
- Prop up the camera. Use two hands or find something stable to set it on.
- Never take just one photo. Take a few to make sure you have a good selection to choose from.
Miguel’s biggest tip? “Just experiment with those things and hopefully these tips, as simple and obvious as they may seem, can help others take better photographs,” he says.
Thanks for the tips, Miguel!
How about you? Try these tips out and let us know what you think! What are your secrets to taking a great shot on your phone?

Some Changes In Our Leadership
We’re in a very exciting time at Motorola Mobility. Our recent devices are delivering unprecedented value to consumers and have had a great reception in the market, with Moto G officially the best selling smartphone in our history. Moto E is meeting with similar enthusiasm, selling out in India on its first day and gaining notice as a true game changer in the industry. We shipped 8.6 million devices in the second quarter, up 130% from last year’s Q2 and more than 30% from last quarter. People are buzzing about the upcoming Moto 360 watch, and we have many more amazing products in development. We’re excited about our new home in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, and looking forward to the close of the Lenovo acquisition, and all the possibilities that it will create for us.
Each has built strong distribution partnerships and grown our share in incredibly competitive markets around the world.
It would be easy for us to take a breath and pat ourselves on the back, but I believe this is the perfect opportunity to make some changes to our leadership that will help us to continue building on this success.
Charlie Tritschler is now Senior Vice President of Product Management, overseeing all of our product development, product marketing and ecommerce efforts. Since joining our team a little over a year ago Charlie has been one of the leading forces behind Moto G and Moto E.
As our global presence expands again, we will rely more on our regional leaders who deeply understand their local markets. As a result, regional sales heads will now sit on our senior leadership team. They include:
- Jeff Miller, Corporate Vice President, North America and Global GTM Operations
- Sergio Buniac, CVP, Latin America
- Magnus Ahlqvist, CVP, EMEA and APAC
Each has built strong distribution partnerships and grown our share in incredibly competitive markets around the world.
Our products depend on powerful and integrated marketing and branding to cut through the clutter and capture people’s imaginations. Adrienne Hayes, SVP, Marketing and Communications, will lead a newly combined marketing and communications organization that will be responsible for our brand image, advertising and reputation globally. In her year with Motorola Adrienne has successfully launched Moto X, Moto G and Moto E globally, and revitalized our company’s voice and social media presence.
These changes ensure that our leadership team accurately reflects our priorities and organization structure, and put us in the best possible position to continue growing our success. Congratulations to all the leaders in new roles, and my thanks to everyone who helped bring us this far.
